Diocesan Shrine of Saint Joseph | Baras, Rizal’s Historic Church ⛪

The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Joseph is the oldest and most iconic landmark in Baras, Rizal. Built by Franciscan missionaries in 1682 and completed in 1686, this historic church is dedicated to Saint Joseph, the town’s patron saint.

Seen in films, TV series, and commercials, the church has undergone major renovations in the 1960s and 2000s. Its altar was solemnly dedicated on November 9, 2019.

On December 7, 2021—coinciding with the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines, the Year of Saint Joseph, and the 100th anniversary of Baras’ independence—the parish church was officially elevated as a Diocesan Shrine by the Diocese of Antipolo.

A timeless symbol of faith, history, and culture in Baras.
